History and design of Silver Maple Leaf 1 oz – silver coin

The coin has been minted by the Royal Canadian Mint since 1988. The obverse depicts Quen Elizabeth II. There are three different versions of her portrait: young, middle-aged and old head version. You can also find the year of issue and the face value of 5 dollars displayed. The reverse contains picture of a maple leaf – national symbol of Canada.
